In Boulder, Colorado there is a life-saver for the casual costumer and the avid cosplayers alike. This little shop finds itself busy nearly year-round with an AWESOME selection of make-up, costumes, wigs, and make-up (among many other items)!
The shop has two separate store fronts, the one pictured above, and another kitty-corner from that one that features predominantly steampunk and club-wear. The steampunk side of things was invaluable to my friends Wren and Colin when they had a Steampunk Wedding. The staff is usually incredibly helpful, but once I did encounter a slighlty snarky employee when I was searching for a wig that would work for my boyfriend's Aragorn costume. The attitude was given when we explained what we were looking for and she had been insulted that we had assumed that she knew what the Lord of the Rings movies were. Outside of this, while some staff can have the standard "nerd introvertedness," they are incredibly friendly even with this. :)
This is my go to shop when I suddenly realize I haven't given myself enough time to order a wig. Three times I have come here for a wig, and each time I have left with something perfect or nearly perfect. They are not heat-resistant, and often of cheaper fibers, but they work really well in a pinch. Lady Loki is from this shop, Aragorn (which I haven't posted yet), and the soon to be worn Amora the Enchantress will be 2 wigs from the shop combined into one.
One last wonderful thing about this shop: the amount of craft/costumes from local artists and seamstresses. Adorable dresses, jewelry, and really amazing accessories/props.
I recommend this shop, it's a great local business to support! 4.5/5 stars all the way!!!!
